Vinny and Sebastion, two burnouts, going nowhere in small town suburbia and still riding the high of their high-school days, start a business doing the only thing they have ever excelled at…drugs. With the help of a jealous girlfriend and a rich goth chick, Vinny and Sebastion take on the mob, angry, geeky, frat-boys, and zombies in the search of the perfect high.
While not a drug user at all, I can appreciate a drug movie every once in a while. I’m a big fan of such stuff as Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, but this one sadly doesn’t come close to stuff like that or maybe not even Pot Zombies. I think I just miss the humor here in some way or another. I think the movie looks just fine and dandy and has actors doing a good job at what they are doing, but I can’t really get into the sense of humor or the characters in this movie at all. And I tried, I really did. I just couldn’t make a connection with any of the wild and wacky stuff going down on the screen.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked zombies as much as the next guy. And the movie does sort of find a creative way to toss zombies into the overall mix. I just don’t think it works that well and there is a lot of other stuff going on that makes me think the zombie word was tossed in the title just to cash in on the popularity of zombies. You just don’t seem to get what you want out of this one, or at least you don’t without being stoned. Maybe since I don’t do that at all is why I missed the punch lines?
