Benji has never been more lovable than in this magical musical holiday special. A surprise visit to meet Kris Kringle (Oscar® nominee Ron Moody) finds the jolly old elf with a secret that could break the hearts of millions of kids. He’s planning to take the night off on Christmas Eve! And there’s only one who can melt his heart and change his mind.

I know it’s almost Halloween at the time of writing this, but I have a new Christmas movie to take a look at! Benji is back and this time Mill Creek has brought his pretty infamous Christmas movie to the land of HD in this new DVD/Blu-ray combo! In what comes across as a bit of a trip here, Benji is with Santa himself! I can only watch a movie like this and think to myself about what that poor dog was thinking while it was on the set of this one! Here we have Santa and all his elves in the mix. He needs some help and let’s leave it to Benji and his owners to help with this and save Christmas!

Of course this was a made for TV special and as a result was only 25 minutes long, so it’s pretty hard to find anything wrong with this one per say. One cool thing about this is it does come in widescreen, which is cool because a lot of times made for TV movies are mostly in fullscreen. The transfer looks great and if I recall was once thought to be lost! We get a nice little show, a good transfer, and some extras. It’s still only 25 minutes, but for what it is I really don’t have anything else to complain about besides wishing it was a full-length movie.
