Weekend (2014) (DVD Review)
Directed By: Yoshikazu Ishi
Starring: Miyuki Yokoyama
Miki is spending the weekend visiting Sanso with her new lover. But he won’t be the man she thought he was…. After Miki is kidnapped, chained and treated like an animal by three savage men, her anger will grow as she fights for her survival. After her heroic escape only one thought will save her from falling: all of them must pay!
Troma once again give us Asian films with a lot of lust in them, as porn star Miyuki Yokoyama is back as the lead in both as well. Starting things off we have Weekend! Basically it is a whole lot like I Spit On Your Grave, only more Asian. Miki is a cospemtics blogger and gets an email from a guy who likes the blog. As luck (bad luck) would have it, she soon runs into him and the two park up a business deal as well as a romance. They spend the weekend together, but that is when all shady things come to a head and things get a whole lot rapey on-screen. Then we kick into the revenge portion of the film, a thing that seems to happen in every none-porn film I’ve seen starring Miyuki Yokoyama. It holds its own pretty well and manages to remain interesting, clearly beating out both films from the last From Asia with Lust set easily. There is enough tension, violence, and nudity here to keep you interested and it manages to stay afloat by not being too silly in the process.
Lipstick (2014) (DVD Review)
Directed By: Ainosuke Shibata
Starring: Miyuki Yokoyama
After young pop idol Arina is raped by a police officer, her pain drives her to insanity. Her sister Keiko, full of anger, won’t stop until she finds the man responsible for Arina’s downfall and make sure he feels her revenge. Keiko will make sure justice is served!
Time for more revenge! This time of the avenging sister variety. I think one bad thing about the other half of this From Asia with Lust double bill is that it seems to drag its feet a bit more than we would have hoped. We get violence, we of course get the nudity we’d want in something like, but we just don’t get enough of the steak to go along with the sizzle. That is in no way a knock on the cast, it is basically the same cast that is in all of these movies, but I think they perhaps didn’t have a strong enough story to go along with the revenge we get time and time again with these movies. It seems like if you get Miyuki Yokoyama in a film, you either get porn or revenge. I’d be happy to see her mix it up a bit when she is in the none-adult sexual acts on film. Still, if you are a fan of hers you won’t be let-down at all by what you see of her, it is just that after four of these films now we are just seeing a wash and repeat of the same stuff over and over. This is clearly the weakest of the double bill this time around.
