In 2012,the deceased have risen from their graves with only one instinct-to feed on the living. As academics speculate on the scientific cause of the phenomena, theologians point to the Armageddon foretold in the Book of Revelation. As the cities are over run and civilization crumbles, a family take refuge from the undead army in an isolated farmhouse in West Wales. But the greatest threat is already among them.
The British are coming! The British are coming! Here the Brisith have come and made their on take on Night of the Living Dead, a film that has been done to death in more ways than one. This movie mostly uses just the name and merely references the classic. But the big twist this one takes when you assume it will just stick to the format seems to be the high point of the film and that sadly comes around fifteen minutes in. The rest of the way this film goes slow and never does seem to really gain steam.
The acting is fine here and the movie even offers us some nice gore. Still, the movie just never does seem to do anything overly impressive or memorable. And, it also hurts that the movie is light on zombies and realizes more on human conflicts to carry things more the most part. Is this the worst take on Night of the Living Dead? Nope, it sure isn’t. I just think people have done all they can really do with the name at this point and this take adds it.
