From the mind of Ed Wood comes ORGY OF THE DEAD! Horror novelist John and his girlfriend Shirley are taking a night drive, in search of an eerie graveyard that will hopefully inspire John to come up with his next story, but instead, stumble into the wild rituals conducted by The Dark Master and his faithful servants. Taken prisoner, they’re forced to watch the shocking rites unfold as they await their fate!Written by the venerable Ed Wood (GLEN OR GLENDA), directed by cult movie maverick, A.C. Stephen (FUGITIVE GIRLS), lighting and camera assistance from Ted V. Mikels (THE DOLL SQUAD) and starring Criswell (PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE).

Before we had a Night, Dawn, or Day of the Dead, we apparently had an Orgy of the Dead. This one, however, having no relation to George Romero but having ties to the infamous Ed Woods, who wrote it. Orgy of the Dead is something else. I’m not too sure as to what, but something else for sure. We basically have two people wreck and sneak around a graveyard while some “dark master” has countless naked woman after naked woman dance in the grave. We have a little bit of a plot, but that is most the thick of things. As a weird T and A movie, it works pretty well but anyone looking for anything more has sure come to the wrong place. This is a movie with a plot as thing as Dollar Tree toilet paper but it does offer up more boobs than anyone who digs them can want, so I kind of consider this one to be a bit of a give and take.

If someone likes films that are from the more odd and awkward side of the cinematic universe then they’ll probably get just what they want in the form of this one. It is a spectacle in every sense of the word but it just doesn’t do much for someone who might be looking for something a little more flushed out. I saw the name “Ed Wood” on the cover and knew exactly what I was getting into with this one, so I was more than prepared. So, it wasn’t really my cup of tea but I do enjoy seeing all these naked women in their HD glory. And if there is one say you can say about this release it is that that it does at least look very good on the disc and you’d probably never expect something like this to look this good.
