12 years ago during a scientific expedition 3 animal biologists stumbled upon a great discovery that ended in tragedy. Whatever killed them has awoken and now the legend of the Ancient Snow Beast could prove to be more than just a legend. First the sea wasn’t safe! Then it was apparently the sand! But now, now not even the snow is safe! Wowzers!

I had heard of Sand Sharks, but this was the first I had heard of a shark that lurks beneath the snow. The concept comes across on film about a wacky as you’d expect. In this case we have a lower budget film so it leaves the gates open for lots and lots of somewhat corny CGI scenes, but a movie that deals with snow sharks is probably intended to be about as over the top and cheesy as the budget of something like this would allow. It is different and it is new, so for that reason alone I can’t hate the movie too much. I always applaud new concepts, even if they are a bit too over the top.

Of course on the flip side of things, this movie does have a lot of unwanted down time. The characters aren’t the most interesting you’ll ever see, and that is bad because they are very talkative in portions of the film. I understand you have to set the table in regards to an overall plot, but things do drag when people talk. The end results are a film that is good for an overall laugh. You probably won’t remember these films long after you’ve seen it, but it makes for a good one to watch around friends.
