The Suicide Squad tries to find a powerful mystical object. Task Force X, consisting of Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Killer Frost, Bronze Tiger, Captain Boomerang and Copperhead, race and battle other villains for the object.

Even if you didn’t love the live action Suicide Squad movie, odds are you at least loved Harley Quinn. You get maybe even a better Squad movie as a whole here with “Hell to Pay” and you even get a perhaps more traditional Harley that combines elements from the movie version and the version everyone liked from the comics. All of this makes a very fun and interesting animated movie that I enjoyed more than even I assumed I would. I like this Captain Boomerang better and I like this version of Deadshot better as a whole. I’m also a fan of Christian Slater and we got him voicing our man Deadshot here and doing it very well I should add. It might be animation but we have some solid character work here that mixes very well with the solid plot we have as well.

This is also another DC animated movie that has an R rating, which goes a long way with someone like me who likes the more adult aspects to comic book movies and Suicide Squad is just the type of characters that fit into this mold the best. Sure, you can get a good solid story regardless, but the added violence and such makes it have a bit more of an adult twist that helps out a great deal when it comes to me watching these DC flicks. Like with Gotham by Gaslight, this is a movie that looks great in Blu-ray form but doesn’t seem to look a bit better in 4K. I don’t know what causes all of that, but I think the movie is good enough regardless.
