Yes you read that correctly…it’s surprise giveaway time!
Lately I have been on a nice run of signing into my email account and finding great stuff. I don’t know if I some how stumbled across some good luck email fairy at some point over the past couple months, but I’m not going to push my luck by asking to many questions.
Luckily for you guys, my good luck is being passed down in the form of something I like to call “Bonus Round Snazzy Giveaway time!”. Now I know what everyone is thinking, that’s an awesome name but what does that really mean? Well, do you like the movies “Alien (1979)” or “Aliens (1986)” ? How about the band “Queen”, or even just over
the top theatrical concerts? Now if you said “Yes” to any of the above then this movie and music love child dubbed “Alien Queen: The Concert” is right up your alley!
So I’m sure you’re wondering what exactly you should expect out of such a hybrid. Scott Bradley and Jonny Stax of The Scooty & JoJo Show have been dazzling us with brilliantly over the top musical movie hybrids for some years now. They are very well known for their yearly Halloween parody in which they pair the movie “Halloween” with the tunes of “The Carpenters” songs. “Alien Queen: The Concert” is their new baby, in which, they mix the epic rock hits of Queen with an outrageous parody of the “Alien” films. Yes, alien costumes and all. Sound awesome? Well that’s because it is! Kind of dumb-founded at the possibility of this? Stun yourself even further by watching this montage of clips from a performance late last year.
You still with me here? I know that was a lot of excitement packed into 1 minute and 31 seconds. So here’s the deal, “Alien Queen: The Concert” will be playing one night only (May 13th at 9:00 PM) at Metro in the good ‘ole city of Chicago and I have 4 tickets to give away! Also, all 4 winners get to bring 1 guest with them for free too! See, I told you this was an awesome email. Along with the main event, the show will open up with a special performance by a local ’80’s inspired synthpop trio called Brilliant Pebbles. So all of you Sci-Fi lovers in Chicago, or anyone wanting an excuse to take a road trip, you have until midnight on May 3rd to leave a comment to enter for a chance to win a free ticket for you and a friend to “Alien Queen: The Concert” at Metro. Winners will be announced May 4th! Good luck everyone, and hopefully I’ll see you there.
*All winners and guests must be 18 years of age in order to enter the concert. Transportation and lodging, if needed, are responsibility of the winner(s).
