Pretty simple post here folks but I just had to take a moment to talk about a toy many of us that were alive in the 80’s will remember, those toys being Spitballs!
Spitballs were round rubber heads of different things from people to other things, and you’d fill them up full of water, squeeze them, and watch the water “spit” out up to a reported total of 18 feet! WOWZERS!
None the less in the 80’s Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street were soo popular that the very R rated films were able to make money crossing over to the masses and having things such as these sit on the toy racks right next to G.I. Joe and My Little Pony.
I recall seeing these things back in the day but I usually shot past them on my way to the big rubber LJN WWF Figures, but they did catch my attention and now days I kinda wish I had gotten them.
As you’ll see from the pictures of the packs, they came with either Freddy or Jason and a “victim”. Pretty cool marketing I suppose but you gotta wonder if any of the parents understood what the heck was going on when they got these for their kids. Not that it’s a big deal, I just find it kinda ironic and funny.
As far as I’m aware Spitballs were never made for Leatherface, Michael Myers, or any other horror villains but if any of you are aware of any please feel free to pass it along.
