Convinced that there isn’t enough of him to go around, overworked contractor Doug Kinney has himself secretly cloned so he can spend more time with his wife and children. But the clones slowly develop ideas of their own — and managing them turns out to be the toughest job Doug’s ever had.

Coming from the legendary Harold Ramis and starring the equally as awesome Michael Keaton comes Multiplicity! A movie I remember rending back in the day at the video store. This is just what you call a light, fluffy movie with some genuinely funny moments. Michael Keaton seems to be having a lot of fun and the creative side of things might be a little ahead of their time for the time this was made. You could also say that Andie MacDowell isn’t anything more than something nice to look at here, but she hasn’t got a lot to work with. This is Michael’s film, which he shares with the excellent visual effects. I think if you are all about the lighter side of movie watching you will find yourself having a really fun time as you watch a movie like Multiplicity.

While you can’t say it was as strong as Groundhog Day (director Harold Ramis’ previous movie) this is still a solid comedy with some funny spots in it. Though its situation of a man cloning himself in order to make his life more manageable would have been an interesting one to play with a serio-comic focus, Multiplicity – despite some token moralizing – is pretty much content to play its premise for the wacky and the goofy. This is a real disc despite being a burn on demand title but it sadly doesn’t have any extras so the movie is all you get. It does look nice as far as the transfer goes, however.
