Duke, a carousel unicorn, hates his job. He has to let kids climb on his back and ride him for hours every day. But one kid has finally pushed him too far. Duke breaks free of his carnival hell and embarks on a bloody rampage of revenge on humanity.

Wild Eye has been releasing a lot of horror movies that come with gimmicks as of late. I mean we have Clownados and such, but here we have Caroushell. A movie about a carousel unicorn that finally has had enough with kids and goes on a killing rampage. Yes, this is a movie that has a gimmick and that does mean we have some weird effects to make it happen at times, but it also is pretty funny. That comedy side of it works very well and helps push this one through just a bit more to make it end up being more watchable than you might think. It’s a silly slasher at heart, which means we have comedy and weird characters, but it all comes together to never go so far over the line that you can’t finish it and that’s with this killer unicorn carousel having sex with one of the characters at one point in the movie. That might be the scene most remember after you’ve seen it and for good reason.

If you are going to do a slasher of any sorts you have to have blood and some creative kills. This one gives us a few simple ones, as the unicorn’s horn does come into play more than once. That, of course, is because they have a big body count and there is probably only so much one can do for what they have to work with. Still, on the other end of that, we have some creative kills that are both bloody at times and funny. I’ll admit it, I liked Caroushell overall. I didn’t think I would at first, but I ended up enjoying it for what it was and that’s a silly good time. We have a few indie stars in this that I’m sure anyone of you that have seen indie movies will notice and be happy to see. It’s creative, a little cheesy, but still a good time.
