Anyone who lived through the ’80s experienced the magic of Gremlins. For everyone else, now is the time to see one of the decade’s defining movies, a wildly original blend of comedy and horror. When Billy (Zach Galligan) receives an adorable pet named Gizmo for Christmas, he’s given three rules for its care. Inadvertently, he breaks the rules, and a resulting army of duplicate furballs wreaks havoc throughout the town in this endearing and enduring box-office hit.

Gremlins is one of my favorite movies from when I was a kid and I used the wear the VHS tape out. A tape that I still own to this day. Now it’s here on 4K for everyone to enjoy in its 35th-anniversary release. So a boy gets a very strange pet that comes with a very strict set of rules. The rules aren’t followed as you’d expect and that is when the evil versions of what he has shown up and all heck breaks loose right around Christmas time! This one is fun from start to finish. The Christmas setting also makes this one packs such a great vibe and feeling as well. The atmosphere goes a long way and here with Gremlins, it goes hand-in-hand with my nostalgia to make me just glow while I watch it. You can also believe that it’s a good movie in general and will be enjoyed for the adventure it is regardless if you’ve seen it one time or for a thousand times.

The main little creature in this movie called Gizmo is a great character. Heck, even the bad Gremlins are all stand-out as they should be here. We have some comedic violence but nothing that is too much for the younger viewers. This is one that is soo good that it doesn’t really matter the ages of the people watching it because I think everyone will enjoy it regardless of that. Here on 4K, the movie looks good and I’d call it an upgrade from the old Blu-ray (that same Blu-ray comes here with this release). It isn’t a perfect transfer but I’m pretty sure that can’t be helped. Regardless, this is a great movie. It’s a classic movie! And coming to 4K is really cool in my opinion. Now, all that being said, bring on part 2 on 4K!
