Do you like playing Blackjack? Well, while I’m by no means an expert in the field, I still love to play live blackjack a good game of it every once in a while. Seeing as how I’m such a big fan of film as well, I can also dig a good Blackjack scene in a good movie. I want to take a moment here to talk about a few awesome scenes in movies that also happen to involve characters playing Blackjack.

Perhaps the most current movie that comes to mind is none other than The Hangover. The Blackjack scene in The Hangover kicks off when the character of Allen finds a booked titled, “The World’s Greatest Blackjack Book”. From there we see the gang head off into the casino for a high stakes game with a $100 entry before losing and having to head on over to a table with a much smaller entry fee. Seeing as how The Hangover takes place in Vegas, this scene turns out to be a great tone setter for the rest of the film.

Blackjack was a big part of the Oscar-winning film, Rain Man, starring Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman from 1988. This is perhaps the movie where the most well-known Blackjack scene of all time takes place. Opening the scene with “Rain Man, let’s play some cards” what follows is a fun scene set to the tone of some 80’s style music. In this scene, “Rain Man” uses his unique skills to do such a great job at the casino that people suspect something is up.

Another fun scene involving Blackjack is from the movie, Casino. In this profanity-laced scene (like the whole movie isn’t the same way), Robert De Niro’s character is called when Joe Pesci’s character finds himself at the casino having a very hard time finding any luck. Things heat up as his luck keeps going nowhere and before we know it we end up seeing one man getting phone whipped in a very dark comedic moment. If all this talk of blackjack and casinos is giving you the urge to play some slot or table games, you could look at playing on an online casino on phone by checking out the Mobile Wins Casino website.

In one of the most underrated comedy movies you’ll find out there, Vegas Vacation, we find the lead character played by Chevy Chase blow and an entire line of credit in hilarious fashion. A scene that both shows how some can just have no luck at all when it comes to the game, Chase makes it still seem like a whole heck of a lot of fun in the process.

Last but not least is the Blackjack scene from, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Showing that you don’t necessarily have to be a high roller or in a casino to play the game, Jack Nicholson, in the role that made him famous no less, tricks a whole group of mental patients to partake in an old school game of Blackjack.

You could go on and on a lot longer about other great Blackjack scenes in movies, but I fell the ones above are great places to start when the subject comes up. What are some of your favorite Blackjack scenes from movies I might have left out of my mentions above?
