In the spring of 1980, the port at Mariel Harbor was opened, and thousands set sail for the United States. They came in search of the American Dream. In this fictional account one of them found it on the sun-washed avenues of Miami… wealth, power and passion beyond his wildest dreams. he was Tony Montana. The world will remember him by another name… Scarface.

Scarface is a movie that is pretty darn timeless and as a result, it usually gets the gen treatment pretty quickly when a new format comes along. I remember when Scarface was a double VHS but now here we are with it (and the original Scarface) getting a 4K release here with this “World is Yours” release. The story of Tony Montana is one that can register with a lot of different people. I like to think it probably connects more with the from nothing to something aspect of it rather than the cocaine and killing part. Regardless, it’s just a good movie and despite how darn long the movie runs you never do get tired of it and there is never a dull moment when you have Al Pachino playing what just might be his most iconic role. Even when Tony is wrong in the movie you still back him, that’s just how good the character is.

Among the other cool extras, you will find in this release on 4K and on Blu-ray, this particular version comes with the World of Yours status that is a pretty impressive looking statute and is not hollow and light that I assumed it would be. The movie is really what you want but if you are just in love with this movie it is a bonus item you might really want to have. The original Scarface is here as well in all its black and white glory. It is pretty different and not as good but it’s still to have it here with this for completion reasons. All in all, this is a great movie and a pretty cool release.
