Decades after Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) prevented Judgment Day, a lethal new Terminator is sent to eliminate the future leader of the resistance. In a fight to save mankind, battle-hardened Sarah teams up with an unexpected ally (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and an enhanced super soldier to stop the deadliest Terminator yet. Humanity’s fate hangs in the balance in this action-packed thrill ride from Tim Miller, the director of Deadpool, and producer James Cameron.

The Terminator franchise is a series of movies I’ve managed to always enjoy despite some pretty rough patches in the series. Terminator: Dark Fate takes the new approach a lot of movies do as it follows the most popular movie in the series T2 and ignores all the rest. On top of that, it even brings back the original Sarah Connor in Linda Hamilton. After using some pretty good CGI to give us a shocker of an opening scene this one is off and running with Sarah, a familiar-looking Terminator, and a cast of new characters off to save the world. It has the action you’d expect, it has the violence you look for, and while still not on the level of the classic T2, I’d call it another solid entry into the series and one that fans of the first two movies will be happy with. Linda Hamilton being in this one is worth the watch alone.

I like the new stuff this one brings to the table in general, even if I don’t know if I’m the biggest fan of the movie’s evil Terminator this time around. Still, it blows away Terminator 3 and Salvation in terms of the quality of these movies. So things blow up, people die, and the movie rarely seems to slow down its wheels as we roll into the big finish. I liked it overall, folks! And I think most will as well. I never thought it would top Terminator 2 but I think this one can sit nicely-being the 3rd or 4th best movie of the entire bunch. Will more come after this? Probably, but this was at least a nice throwback to the core source and material of this now legendary series of movies.
