Reckless police inspector Tung (Zhang Jin) is on a mission to crack down on criminal Shing’s (Shawn Yue) gold smuggling scheme, yet fails to arrest him. As Tung continues his manhunt, he discovers Shing’s involvement with triad boss Blackie (Yasuaki Kurata), who hides on a casino cruise ship on the high seas. Shing has been involved in a power struggle within the smuggling ring, and is forced to kill his adopted father. He also loses his share of gold smuggling to Blackie. To get even, Shing appears on the cruise, while Tung is there to hunt for him.

We have a badass cop and a badass drug smuggler dueling fists (and other things) to the death here in The Brink! Which you can find on Blu-ray from Well Go USA. I’m always a fan of action and a quicker pace. I got both of these things in this movie and then some. Coming with a great cast which includes our two leads mentioned above played by Shawn Yue and Jin Zhang. With actors like that you know you aren’t just getting a mindless action movie, you are getting a well-acted action movie that delivers on the steak and not just the sizzle. The plot is a driving force to your interest and all the violence and such is just there for good measure with this one.

But if you are just here for stuff to explode and for some very interesting fight scenes, you get that here as well. They manage to get just as creative with the action and setting complicated fight scenes up as they do the violence. If you like action movies then you’ll love this one right out of the gate, but if you like action movies that actually come with a nice hook (the plot) then you’ll be a fan of this one even more. The movie looks great in HD as you would expect and it also comes with a “making of” and trailers on the disc as extras. This one is a whole lot of fun and I think you should check it out.
