Romulus and Remus are two shepherds and loyal brothers who are destined to found the greatest empire the world has ever seen – but only one can rule. The journey to greatness is paved with blood and the fate of the chosen one lies in the hands of their brother.

This is a violent movie! And that’s always a good thing in my book. We step away from a Hollywood driven area and get this one from Italy. I’ve always liked movies from this area and this one shows how well they’ve come along over there and this is a big production and it has some cool stuff going on in it. The mentioned violence is one of those good things. It also packs some cool character development and tells a really good story of two brothers. I don’t know how true of a story it tells, but it remains interesting and keeps you tuned in from start to finish. It looks great, it keeps things pretty well-paced not counting a few small portions, and it shows you a very good story in a polished but violent light. I don’t know how well the re-watch value of this one is, but for a once over I had a good time with it.

If you ever wanted to see how things were in 8th century BC and see all about the foundation of Rome, this is a good movie to see. Some stuff along the way could be a tad bit predictable but it is still done in a way that it doesn’t really matter to you that much. While some call this all a myth it is done in a very realistic tone and I think that helps sell this one to me at the end of the day. It’s an action odyssey and it will be a great time for people who are all about that type of stuff. If you just want a good movie to watch at some point, this one works for that as well. You can even watch it here with this release in its original language or English dub. Call me crazy, but the campy movie fan in me liked the dub. I think you’ll get the same result with this one, either way, you go about it.
