Stênio works the night shift at a morgue in a big, violent city. On the job, he sees cadavers in every conceivable state, often the victims of a horrific gang warfare. While most would be rather unsettled by it all, Stênio is not, as the dead speak to him.

If there’s one thing I can say about The Nightshifter it’s that it comes with a very creepy and spooky vibe to it. In this movie, we are with a guy who works at the morgue and he can talk to the dead after they pass. Well, one night he hears some interesting info from a dead person, uses to his advantage and then we are off and running with him and his family in danger. The movie packs some thrills and it packs some chills, but it also tosses in some bloody parts and blood to keep you interested. Most of the Shudder original movies I have seen have been really solid, this one here isn’t any different. It is a creepy movie and it packs a very interesting story to it.

I like the blood and I like the tension here this one brings to the table. I’ve seen more and more movies these days that seem to be dealing with people who live in the morgue and sometimes they or other people talk to the dead. This one takes that and does a pretty interesting thing with it and I can respect that and I recommend it to people looking for something new. I can’t promise that you will love it, but I do think you will find it very much worth a watch if you get the chance to check it out. Shudder is releasing a solid line of films and that continues here with this release of The Nightshifter.
