Witness the legendary origin of renowned Justice League member Wonder Woman as she fights for good with her sword and magic lasso. Equally strong in body, heart and will, she makes it her mission to help a troubled young girl enlisted by a deadly organization known as Villainy, Inc., whose criminal members have their sights set on invading Themyscira, Wonder Woman’s paradise home. The battle will be epic, because if there’s one thing an Amazon knows, it’s war!

I’ve always liked a good Wonder Woman story as much as the next guy and I went into Wonder Woman: Bloodlines pretty stocked about what I was going to see. On the surface, it is a movie that might remind a few people of her live-action movie. We have a man crash into Wonder Woman’s area and then she goes against the wishes of her people to go and help him. So, in a way, that whole portion of the movie is the same. The difference here is (among other things) is we get to see her do battle with a nice list of Wonder Woman villains that we might not ever battle on screen or at least not see her do battle with anytime soon. While you could say some of the stuff here we’ve seen done before in other Wonder Woman areas, you can at least have some fun with this one and I did just that.

If you really want to break this thing down, only one of the stories here in this one is a lot like the live-action movie. They really try to fit in about a total of three different tales into this one. There are the above-mentioned origin story and the others with Wonder Woman doing battle with several villains that takes place through several years. It’s more Wonder Woman 52 than anything else but I still liked it enough and still think the animated DC movies are holding things together much better than the live-action ones. If you’ve liked what you’ve seen up until now you will also like this.
